For Okno, Judith Röder wandered through Wrocław and environs, an area full of inscriptions of the most diverse cultural and political provenance due to its eventful political history. The artist becomes a filmic archivist of these relics, which she submits to a visual stocktaking. In these images we can make out traces of overwriting, of processes of usurpation, the seemingly contradictory coexistence of different entities. (…) It is a timeless review that sweeps effortlessly across several decades and generations, contextualising what is shown in its current agitation. (Daniel Burkhardt)
