The film No Other Land centres on the extraordinary connection between a Palestinian activist and an Israeli journalist in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Basel is Palestinian and since his childhood he has been protesting against the mass displacement of his community by the Israeli occupation. He meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist, who joins him. Together they document how bulldozers demolish houses before the eyes of their inhabitants and how Israeli soldiers brutally enforce the illegal seizure of land by the settlers. The relationship between the two, however, is strained by the deep inequality between them: While Basel is living under military occupation, Yuval can move about freely and unhindered. With clarity and empathy, this film by a Palestinian-Israeli collective of four young activists tells the story of the search for a path to equality and justice.
